During the closing ceremonies of last week's National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) 68th Annual Conference held in Portland, Oregon, the organization swore in the newly elected Executive Board and Area Vice Presidents.

Jefferson Keel, the Lt. Governor of the Chickasaw Nation, was re-elected with unanimous support as the President in an unopposed race last Wednesday. Also re-elected were NCAI First Vice President Juana Majel Dixon, Pauma Band of Mission Indians, and NCAI Treasurer Chairman W. Ron Allen, Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. The race for NCAI Secretary was won by Edward Thomas, Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, who beat out Terri Henry, Eastern Band of Cherokee.
