Backers of two ballot measures aimed at legalizing a private casino in Wood Village, Oregon, have decided to suspend their campaign, citing a lack of popular support for the idea. As reported by the Portland Business Journal, the decision comes as a surprise just weeks before ballots will be mailed out to Oregon voters.
The "Its Still A Bad Idea Committee" that is opposing the measures, argues that the casino project would profit corporate interests at the expense of the Oregon public and its tribes.
