The first U.S. Olympic trials in women's boxing are being held this week at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. The International Olympic Committee approved the sport in 2009. This week, the country's top female boxers have come to the Kalispel Tribe of Indians' premier sporting venue in Washington state to try to fulfill their Olympic dreams and bring their sport out of the shadows.
The trials have received a lot of publicity including coverage on National Public Radio and a story "America's Boxing Women Aim for the Olympics" in the New York Times.
